Finding a random server to join
Each shuffle draws servers at random from the whole directory, then puts the ones with players online at their last check first, followed by online servers that were empty. Offline servers stay hidden unless you turn Online only off.
Rolling a single server picks one that was online at its last check. Copy its IP, add it from the Multiplayer screen on Java or the Servers tab on Bedrock, and match the version the listing shows.

How are the random servers picked?
At random from every published server, with servers that had players online at their last check shown first, then servers that were online but empty. Each shuffle draws a new set.
How do I join a Minecraft Java server?
Copy the server address, open Minecraft Java Edition, choose Multiplayer, then Add Server. Paste the address, save it, and select Join Server. Keep any port after a colon, and use the game version the server supports.
How do I join a server on Minecraft Bedrock?
Choose Play, open the Servers tab, scroll down, and select Add Server. Enter a name, the address, and the port (19132 unless the listing shows another), then save and join. Consoles only list featured servers by default, so joining other servers there usually needs an extra workaround.
How current is the online status and player count?
Each listing shows the result of its most recent stored check, with the time of that check. Unknown means the check did not return a trustworthy answer; it is kept separate from offline so a timeout is never shown as a confirmed outage.
