How to make a circle in Minecraft
Choose a diameter
Odd sizes such as 15 or 21 have a single centre block, so they are easiest to line up with doors, paths and towers.
Mark the centre and the four points
Place a marker block at the centre, then count out to the edge in all four directions. Those are the flat middle of each side.
Build one quarter from the chart
Copy one quarter of the circle from the generator, row by row. Hover a block to see how far it is from the centre.
Mirror it three times
Every circle is symmetrical, so the other three quarters are the same pattern flipped. Tick blocks off in the generator as you go.
Thin, thick or filled?
- Thin circles are one block wide and join diagonally at the corners. They look cleanest for walls, towers and pools.
- Thick circles fill in those diagonal gaps, so the ring is solid all the way round. Use them for paths, fences and anything mobs should not slip through.
- Filled circles cover the whole area, for floors, platforms and roofs.
How to make a sphere or dome in Minecraft
A sphere is a stack of circles that grow and then shrink. Switch the generator to Sphere and step through the layers from the bottom: each layer shows exactly which blocks to place and how many. Scaffolding up the middle makes the upper layers easier to reach.
A dome is the top half of a sphere. It starts with its widest ring at ground level and closes to a small cap, which makes it ideal for glass roofs over bases, farms and spawn areas on survival servers.
Ovals and arches
Set a different width and height in Oval mode for elliptical rooms, ponds and stadiums. Arch mode draws the curved top of a doorway, bridge or tunnel: give it the width of the opening and how tall it should rise, and it leaves the base open.
