Bedrock Edition runs on Windows, phones, tablets, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. Joining a server takes a minute on most devices; consoles need one extra consideration.
Add a server on Windows, phone, or tablet
Open the Servers tab
Choose Play, then switch to the Servers tab.
Add the server
Scroll to the bottom of the list and select Add Server.
Enter the details
Type any Server Name, paste the Server Address, and enter the Port. Bedrock's default port is
19132.Save and join
Choose Save, then select the server in your list to join.
Joining on Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch
Console versions show a list of featured partner servers and do not include an Add Server button. Joining other servers from a console relies on third-party workarounds, so check the server's own instructions and only use services you trust.
Can Bedrock players join Java servers?
Only when the server supports it. Many Java networks run a bridge that lets Bedrock players connect; those servers list a Bedrock address and port. Look for Bedrock or Cross-play on a listing, or browse servers with cross-play support.
If you cannot connect
- Check the port. Bedrock servers usually use
19132, but many use a custom port. - Update the game. Bedrock servers often require the latest version.
- Check multiplayer permissions. Child accounts may need multiplayer enabled in family settings.
- Check the server status. Listings show whether the server answered at its last check.
