How Lifesteal works

Defeating a player takes one of their hearts and adds it to yours. Run out of hearts and you are eliminated until revived, often with a craftable item; the exact rules differ from server to server. Most Lifesteal servers are SMPs with regular PvP.

SMP stands for Survival Multiplayer: a shared survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress together. Public SMPs let anyone join; whitelisted SMPs need approval from the owners first.

How do I join a Minecraft Java server?
